While Alparslan is chasing after the assassins, he saves the life of Akça, a Turkmen girl fleeing from Byzantine cruelty. This becomes the first spark of the epic love between Alparslan (Barış Arduç) and Akça (Fahriye Evcen). However, Alparslan is unaware of the secrets hidden behind Akça's beauty. The Byzantine Emperor sends General Dukas and Captain Romen Diogenes to Ani in order to resolve the issues with the Turkmen people. But a mistake made by Yannis, the son of Ani's governor Kekavmenos, leads Sultan Tuğrul to make a decision for war. Alparslan, who has been foretold of glorious conquests in his dreams since childhood, confronts the Byzantines with the Seljuk army in Pasinler. Pasinler will be the first step on Alparslan's sacred journey to open the gates of Anatolia to the Turks.
